Pumpkin and Pizza Bingo Night – Friday October 20th
Come out to our first Family Night event this year! The SCA will be selling pizza,
desserts and drinks from 5:45-6:45 in the cafeteria. BINGO will follow immediately after.

o BINGO: 7:00-9:00pm
o Place: FHES Gym
o Price: $6.00 per player
o Reserve your Spot and pay HERE
• Children (and parents) are encouraged to wear costumes! All children must be
accompanied by an adult.
• Pre ordered BINGO cards may be picked up in the main lobby starting at 6:30 on
October 20th.

Halloween Bingo Cake Raffle!We are excited to add a new element to the very popular FHES Pumpkin Bingo night – a cake Raffle!  Very similar to the old school cake walks of yesteryear, but now your cake will be on display the evening of Pumpkin Bingo, and students & families will be able to purchase a $1 chance to take home your creation! In order to make this a great success, we need cake/treat donations to Raffle the night of October 20th.  The theme for your treat is Fall/Autumn or anything Halloween! Get creative! Have the kids help and then watch all of their friends bid on your masterpiece! Please drop your cake/treat off to the FHES Cafeteria between 3-5pm on October 20th. You will need to submit a title or name for your cake, along with your name and a complete list of ingredients when you drop off your cake.  You can contact Megan David meganbrwn@aol.com with any questions!


Flint Hill Survey on Parent Programming

Parents, we are excited to hear what kind of parent programs you would like to see at Flint Hill.  Please take a moment to click on the link below and share your thoughts.  Mrs. Williams and Ms. Lipton will use this  information to help plan parent programs for the 2017-2018 school year.  We are eager to get your feedback!


Box Tops for Education at Flint Hill – First Collection Date is Friday, October 13!

Clipping Box Tops is a fun and easy way to help the PTA raise money for Flint Hill Elementary!  Our first collection date is coming up fast on Friday, October 13th. Simply clip the pink Box Tops on hundreds of your favorite items (including General Mills cereals, Nature Valley granola, Annie’s Organic products, Ziploc, and Hefty to name just a few), deposit them in the collection box in the school lobby, and watch them turn into real cash for our school! We ask that Box Tops and bonus Box Tops certificates be returned to us in baggies or envelopes labeled with the names of the student and their teacher, and the number of Box Tops included. Remember, expired Box Tops cannot be redeemed so please make sure to turn your Box Tops in by each collection date!

FHES Snack Donation Program

Welcome back, families! For anyone interested in making a donation, we are currently collecting individually packaged nut free snacks to distribute to our FHES students in need.  If you would like to donate, please  send items to Mrs. Williams via the main office.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mrs. Williams at aywilliams1@fcps.edu.

Reflections Contest

The theme this year is “Within Reach.”  Artwork can include a variety of different mediums such as dance choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, photography or visual arts.

Entries will be due Friday, October 20th, so there is plenty of time to participate.  Any grade and any ability can participate in Reflections.

Please make note of these new requirements for turning in your students entry:
DANCE & FILM entries are electronic files on a flash drive or DVD. I prefer flash drives; they’re compatible with more systems.

LITERATURE entries will be hard copy of a poem or story, typed or handwritten on one side only of 8 ½ x 11” paper. Include two copies if possible. If the entrant included an electronic file, too, leave it with the entry; it may be useful. But hard copy is required.

MUSIC COMPOSITION entries must include a recording, either an electronic file of the music as performed by the student or other musicians, or an electronically generated recording  generated by music notation software. Video files are not allowed.  In the Primary, Intermediate, and Special Artist divisions, the score is optional. See the rules for details.

PHOTOGRAPHY entries must include a print of the photo AND may also include AN ELECTRONIC FILE (on CD or flash drive). The e-file is a new requirement this year. If the entrant did not include an efile – for entries being advanced. The photo may be matted but not framed. If it’s matted, count the mat in the total size of the piece. Maximum size 11×14”.

VISUAL ARTS entries must include the original artwork. Copies are not eligible.
