Attention Rising 6th Grade Parents

Student must receive a TDAP Shot before entering 6th grade. Students must provide documentation proving they received the TDAP shot. Please bring documentation to the school office Attn: Shirley Eason by June 1,2018

Those 5th graders that have received and provided documentation already Thank You.
There will be 2 more reminder letters sent out between now and the end of the year. Please disregard this letter if you have already provided it.

Dining For Dollars – April 3rd!

Make dinner a selfless act by joining us for a fundraiser to
support Flint Hill Elementary School PTA. Come in to the
Chipotle at 213 Maple Avenue East in Vienna on Tuesday,
April 3rd between 4:00pm and 8:00pm.

Let’s Get Ready for the Flint Hill Fun Run!

Join us for this family event that celebrates fitness and builds on Flint Hill’s running program. The 5K Race starts and finishes at the school with a course through surrounding neighborhoods. Awards will be given for the top three finishers in each age category. The Fun Run is held on school grounds and all participants receive a race ribbon. *Register before April 9th to receive your race t-shirt. Click HERE to register!

The Falcon 5K Race and Fun Run is one of the primary fundraisers for the FHES PTA and we are seeking corporate sponsors for the race.  If you own or manage a small business such as medical/dental practice, real estate, athletic training, consulting or any business that would benefit from exposure to more than 500 community members in the Vienna/Oakton area, please consider becoming a sponsor or ask your employer to sponsor the race!  Sponsorships range from $100 to $1,000.  We thank our sponsors by listing their business names and logos on our T-shirts, website, flyers, race banners and PTA emails.  Funds raised go directly to programs that provide technology, curriculum supplies, and student enrichment programs at FHES.  Please contact us at flinthill5k@gmail.com if you are interested in becoming a sponsorDeadline for sponsorship is Monday, April 2nd if you’d like to be on the banner.  Otherwise, the deadline is April 8th.

The Show What You Know Expo is Friday, April 20th!

All participating students must register for FREE at the Pay 4 School Stuff site https://www.pay4schoolstuff.com

Registration is open NOW through April 13th.

All participating students should bring their project to the gym when they arrive at school on Friday, April 20th. Student’s name, teacher name and grade should be on the back of the project board.

Friends and family can visit the Expo on Friday, April 20th, from the end of school until 6 p.m.  A parent or guardian must accompany students when visiting the expo after school.

Spring Picture Day is coming!
– Tuesday, April 10th

Spring portraits will be taken on Tuesday, April 10th.  Look for your picture form to come home in Tuesday Folders when we return from spring break.  There will be a $20 voucher with each form that can be used for your spring portrait order.

Flint Hill is looking for some parent volunteers to help out with Picture Day.  We need at least 1-2 volunteers in the morning and possibly in the afternoon on Tuesday, April 10.  All volunteers will receive a coupon voucher.  If you are interested, please e-mail Gayle Schlueter at gschlueter5@gmail.com.

Volunteers for Committees for 2018-2019 School Year

There are several open PTA committees open for the 2018-2019 school year listed below.  If you have an hour a week, one day a week, or a few days a month to help out, please reach out to Jessica Snow or reply to this email.  Several of these committees may cease exist if we do not have parent volunteers to keep them up and running.

If you are looking to be a part of the PTA Board for the 2018-2019 school year, be on the look out for the Call for Nominations!
