   Teacher Appreciation Week

Flint Hill will celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week on May 7-11.  This year’s theme will be a Camping Theme…  “The World Needs S’More Teachers Like YOU!”

The PTA has planned the following school-wide events for the teachers & staff:

The PTA also needs YOUR help during Teacher Appreciation Week:

School Decorating with Chalk–All are invited on Sunday, May 6th to help decorate the sidewalks with chalk!  Bring your own chalk and let’s write loving messages to all our Flint Hill teachers.  Meet at school at 4pm. Students are welcome to write messages on parking spaces, and sidewalks.  PLEASE do NOT draw on the building.

Classroom Notes

Yesterday in your student’s Tuesday Folders, was a packet explaining teacher notes and the teacher raffle. Collections baskets (marked “Teacher Appreciation Project”) will be placed in the classrooms (near the doorway) starting April 30th.  This year stars will be used to decorate the classroom door during Teacher Appreciation Week. The “Happy Camper” cutouts will be used to create a large mural in the hallway for all the staff to enjoy.

Extra notes will be available in each classroom for those who forget their notes as well as for those who wish to make notes for other teachers (e.g., art teacher, music teacher, etc.).  Please send in notes by Friday, May 4th.

Teacher Raffle Gift Card Donations — For the 3rd year, the PTA is holding a gift card raffle for the teachers & staff every day of the Teacher Appreciation Week.  They are asking Flint Hill families to donate restaurant or store gift cards (anywhere from $5 to $25) for this raffle. If you are interested in contributing to the raffle, please send your gift card to the mail office in a sealed envelope marked “Teacher Appreciation Raffle” with the amount of the gift card listed (sometimes the gift cards do not indicate the amount and we want to distribute the cards evenly).  Please send in gift cards by Wednesday, May 2nd.

Thank you for your support!

Flint Hill’s 3rd Green Flag!

Our students have been hard at work the past few years to beautify our school grounds and this year we’ve achieved our 3rd Green Flag from the National Wildlife Foundation’s EcoSchools USA! Flint Hill has become the third school in the nation to receive this honor. To celebrate the hard work of the students and staff, we will be hosting a Garden Showcase on May 30th from 4:00 PM-5:00 PM. This event will have pictures with Farmer Jeff and a chicken, wearable greenhouses, taste of the gardens and so much more! We hope you can join us for this amazing event and help us all celebrate. Please RSVP using this link if you are able to attend: https://goo.gl/forms/I9Xuoy8vTEQVYJpH2

School Supply Kits are NOW available to order on-line until June 24, 2018.

Flint Hill has chosen to use EPI, the largest school pack vendor in the country, for ordering school supplies for the 2018-2019 school year.  You can order online at www.educationalproducts.com/shoppacks (our school ID is FLI018).  School supply kits may be purchased thru June 24, 2018.  The supplies will be available for pick up at the Open House in August.  If you are unable to make the Open House, we will leave the supplies in your child’s classroom.  Please feel free to contact Erin Miller at erin@hautepapier.com if you have any questions.

Volunteers for Committees for 2018-2019 School Year

There are several open PTAcommittees open for the 2018-2019 school year listed below.  If you have an hour a week, one day a week, or a few days a month to help out, please reach out to Jessica Snow or reply to this email.  Several of these committees may cease exist if we do not have parent volunteers to keep them up and running.
