Call for Disinfecting Wipes for the Cafeteria

Flu season is approaching!  Flint Hill needs your help!   Please consider donating disinfecting wipes to be used in the cafeteria to keep it as clean and germ-free as possible.  Donations can be dropped off at the main office.  Thank you for your help!

Volunteers needed for Patriots Day Set-Up

Flint Hill needs 3-4 volunteers to help decorate for the November 12th Patriots Day celebration.  Volunteers are needed on Friday, November 9th from 12:30-2:30pm.   If you are able to volunteer, please sign up HERE.

Come learn more about Mindfulness on Thursday, November 8th @ 7pm AND Tuesday, November 13th @ 9:30am

November Parent Meet-Up:  Thursday, November 8th at 7pm at Caffe Amouri!

Thank you to everyone who attended our October Parent Meet-Up for morning coffee at Panera Bread.  For the month of November, we will switch things up by moving our Meet-Up to an evening get-together at Caffe Amouri, on Thursday, November 8th.  One of our very own Flint Hill parents, Annabel Olah, will be giving a talk about mindfulness:  “Mindfulness for Kids & Adults – Top Tips for How to De-Stress.”  We are thrilled that Caffe Amouri will be hosting this talk as part of their Penny University – a community forum for a variety of different topics and speakers.

November PTA Meeting:  Tuesday, November 13th at 9:30am at Flint Hill!

Please join us at our November PTA meeting on Tuesday, November 13th at 9:30am in the Flint Hill cafeteria.  We are pleased to have Mary Beth Quick present “Just One Breathe” – Simple Ways to Include Mindfulness in School and at Home.  Ms. Quick is the Owner, Director, and Co-Founder of Heart & Soul Yoga, where she teaches yoga and mindfulness to pre-K through teens through after and in school programs.

We hope that you can join us at one of these Mindfulness talks!

Join Artsonia and See Your Child’s Artwork Online!

Our new art teacher, Ms. McAlister has introduced Artsonia, an exciting online digital art gallery that provides parents with access to their student’s artwork throughout the year.  In addition to viewing your child’s artwork, Artsonia offers families and friends opportunities to purchase quality keepsake items that earn money for Flint Hill!    For your child to participate in Artsonia, you first need to grant permission for the school to provide your email to Artsonia by using this online form.  After you have granted permission, you will receive an email from Artsonia to activate your child’s account.  Once the account is activated, parents can start viewing artwork as it is posted, and share it with family and friends!  For more information on Artsonia, please contact Ms. McAlister at sdmcalister@fcps.edu.

Grace Art Sign Ups for November

Our beloved Grace Art program is back! Please see below for more information about our November Grace Art projects.  We love our volunteers – no art experience required!

In the month of November, the featured artist will be Frida Kahlo and the students will be working on self portraits.  Please refer to the sign up below for the class schedule as well as to volunteer HERE.

If you have any questions, please contact Angela Elmore at anghub@gmail.com.

Join the Falcon 5K Sponsorship Committee!
We are looking for people to join the 5K sponsorship committee! It is a fun event that brings the school together and a great fundraiser.  There are co-chairs in place, so any extra help would be useful.  If you would like to help, contact Ellen Mek at  or Brian Merritt at flinthill5K@gmail.com .
