Introducing your 2019-2020 PTA Board

At our final PTA meeting of the year last week, we elected the new PTA board for the 2019-2020 school year.  Please join me in welcoming your new PTA Board:

President – Liz Crimmins
President-Elect – Erin Miller
VP of Programs – Stephanie Hsiang
VP of Fundraising – Lara Rosa
Secretary – Kristen Root
Treasurer – Hui Chang

I would also like to recognize the 2018-2019 PTA Board for their phenomenal dedication and hard work over the past year.  Many, many thanks to Liz Crimmins (President-Elect and your new President), Andi Farrow (VP of Programs), Sarah Speer (VP of Fundraising), Pam Erickson (Secretary), and Miluska Smith (Treasurer) – it was a pleasure to serve with you all this year.

On behalf of outgoing board, I would like to thank all of our PTA committee chairs, volunteers, parents, Ms. Hertzberg, Mrs. Hoak, Flint Hill teachers and staff, and the entire Flint Hill community for all of your support this past year.  It has been an honor to serve as your President for the last 3 years.

Important Immunization Requirement: Do You Have a Student Entering Sixth Grade Next Year?

If yes, he or she may need a booster dose of Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis). Sixth grade students cannot begin school in August without documentation of the Tdapbooster. Parents or guardians should ask their private healthcare provider, or the health department, to review their child’s immunization record if they are unsure if their child has received the Tdap booster. Students who have received a Tdap booster between the ages of seven and eleven do not need another dose.

Documentation must be provided to the school Student Information Assistant (SIA), Mrs. Shirley Eason.

Share This Information with a Friend or Neighbor!Kindergarten registration is upon us! We welcome parents of rising kindergarten students to register their child at their earliest convenience. This helps us get acquainted with our new students and allows us to have our numbers so we can best staff our kindergarten classrooms. Please don’t hesitate to share this information with a neighbor, friend, or colleague who lives within our boundaries. We want to ensure we get students registered as early as possible–in addition to registering for our Bridge to Kindergarten program this summer!

For more information on kindergarten registration, please contact our Student Information Assistant, Shirley Eason.

Calling a lovers of the outdoors!

We need your help to keep Flint Hill’s gardens & courtyard in tip top shape this spring. Flint Hill has been selected to be part of a garden tour in early June and Ms. Fischer needs help weeding, raking and planting to get our gardens ready and keep them in pristine condition. You do not need a green thumb to help out! Ms. Fischer will provide the tools and give you a quick overview of what areas need to the most attention.  Click HERE to sign up!

Order Your School Supplies NOW!
It’s that time of year again!  The 2019/2020 school supply kits are on sale now, click HERE.  Use code FLI018 to enter our school’s sale and be sure to purchase your student’s kit for their grade level next year.  Don’t delay, early bird pricing ends on the last day of school!  Kits will be delivered directly to your child’s classroom prior to the first day of school.  $5 from the sale of each kit will help to fund the PTA, which in turn supports important school programs that touch every student.

Save your change for Flint Hill’s first Penny Wars where grades will compete to earn fun prizes!  Each grade that fills a bucket with change will receive an extra recess.  The grade with the most points at the end of the week wins a popsicle party at their extra recess!

Students can bring in their change to the FRONT OFFICE from Tuesday, May 28 to Friday May 31.  Proceeds from Penny Wars will go towards technology purchases for Flint Hill.

We need volunteers each morning from 8:30 – 9:15 to help the students put their change in buckets in the office.  If you can help, please contact Sarah Speer at FHESFundraising@gmail.com

Supplies needed!

Do you have a red canopy tent that we could borrow to decorate the gym for the 6th grade dance on June 12?  If so, please contact paulajantz@yahoo.com.
