Thank you to all the Flint Hill families that continue to support our PTA each year. Last year was a very successful fundraising year for the PTA. As a result, the PTA was able to continue to support and organize after school programs; support field trips and library programs; enhance technology throughout the school; provide grants to teachers; host family fun nights and host our first ever International Night to name just a few.

Because of all the demands on families these days, we are once again going to streamline our fundraising efforts. We will have four main events as described below along with our ongoing rebate programs.

PTA Membership – Please consider joining the PTA today! This year we have made it very simple for you to do by providing an online membership form as part of our new website. You can locate the form on this site under JOIN!  The cost of membership is $15 this year. With your membership, you will get access to the online directory. In addition, if you sign up before September 28, you will get one free wristband per family to the October 2 Fall Fling.  This is our chance as parents to show our teachers, school administrators and staff that we care and support our school.

Friends of Flint Hill – Instead of asking families to go door-to-door selling gift wrap and other items, we will ask each family to contribute a set amount for each student at FHES. This saves families time and energy, and allows the PTA to keep 100% of the funds raised instead of splitting it with an outside vendor. More information on how to contribute will be sent home with students in October.

Read-A-Thon – For this event, students will seek sponsorships from family and friends for each minute they read over a two week period, or you can choose to pledge a flat fee.  Reading is an integral part of FHES – in our first Read-A-Thon last year, our students read over 177,000 minutes (almost 3000 hours)!  Our 2nd Read-A-Thon is being planned for February 2012.

Spring 5K/Fun Run – We will host our third annual 5K/Fun Run in May 2012. All families are encouraged to participate in this great event.

Rebate Program – We will once again be participating in a variety of rebate programs. This is essentially free money you can earn for the school while shopping. Last year we had a record year, and we hope to build on that success. Just click on the links to register your card for Giant and Target. Make sure to sign up family and friends as well. You can also earn money by shopping through Amazon and eBoxTops the Marketplace. You can create your accounts using the links on the right.
