Thank you to all the Flint Hill families that continue to support our PTA each year!

Every year, the Flint Hill Elementary School (FHES) Parent Teacher Association and school administrators, teachers, and staff work together to identify programs and resources that will ensure FHES continues to provide our children with a quality education in a caring environment.  Without the donations of time and funds from FHES families and the community, many of the resources we take for granted would be unobtainable.

Last year, the PTA funded approximately $69,000 in programs and resources for our school.  This year, the PTA needs to raise approximately $60,000 to fully fund all of the programs currently budgeted. These charts show where the money goes and where it comes from.

This letter serves as a roadmap to the fundraising efforts planned for the 2018-19 school year.  Please help your children by participating in these programs, and get your family and friends involved!  Other than the PTA Membership, these fundraising activities are not limited to FHES immediate families.

PTA Membership:  Joining doesn’t mean a big commitment – it’s a way to support all the great things the PTA does for our school and its students.  PTA members gain access to the school directory and your membership fee of $20 goes directly to your children’s education through PTA programs.  Each family must join each academic year. All families who join the PTA this year will receive a Flint Hill note pad.

You can join by logging into your PTA/Parent portal at using your email address.   New to Flint Hill?  Add yourself to our parent portal by going to School Code: FlintHillFalcons

Friends of Flint Hill (FOFH):  100% of the funds raised through this fundraiser go to the PTA to support the budget outlined above.  You may contribute to FOFH via at at the time you sign up for the PTA or anytime (though the earlier the better for planning purposes).  As a guideline, last year the PTA spent approximately $100 per student.  Your donation is 100% tax-deductible and you will receive a tax receipt for your gift and recognition on our website (or you can remain anonymous).  Don’t forget to check with your employer – many will match your gift!

Dining for Dollars (DFD):  FHES partners with various restaurants and other local establishments throughout the year.  The concept is easy you eat dinner or purchase services from the provider and FHES receives a percentage of the sales, usually 20% or more!  Tell your friends and families  the more people that attend these events, the more Flint Hill makes.  It’s a win-win…you don’t have to plan dinner and Flint Hill earns money!

Read-a-thon:  This two-week event held February 15 – March 1 is designed to develop stronger, more enthusiastic readers, while raising funds for the school.  Students keep track of the minutes that they read and individual classes compete to see who can read the most minutes. Students can earn money for their school by asking family and friends to sponsor them with a tax-deductible gift during the Read-a-thon.

10th Annual Falcon 5K & Fun Run:  This family fun event, held May 4, celebrates fitness and builds on Flint Hill’s running program.  It is our largest fundraising event of the year and is open to the public. The race starts and finishes at the school with a course through the surrounding neighborhoods.  Consider sponsoring this community event to help the school and gain exposure for your business!
